2024 – A Divine Milestone for the 108 Kids Thirumurai Vinnappam
In 2024, the 3rd Annual Panniru Thirumurai for World Peace Program witnessed a spiritually uplifting contribution from the Dallas Saiva Sabai, as part of the global 30-hour Thirumurai recitation event coordinated by the North America Panniru Thirumurai Association (NAPTA).
Highlights from the 2024 Program
- 🌺 185+ Odhuvars recited Thirumurai live from the sacred temple grounds.
- 👧🏻🧒🏽 Over 108 children from across the DFW area came together to recite two selected Pathigams in unison, offering their voices for World Peace.
- 🌍 Participation included devotees from across the globe, including a student from South Korea, showcasing the event’s global reach.
- 🛕 Over 1,000 devotees attended the live recitation at Thiru Athigai Veeratam Temple
- 🌱 Padasalai Students gained firsthand exposure to Thirumurai recitation traditions and values
- The children delivered a 30-minute Thirumurai performance that was live-streamed globally as part of the continuous recitation from over 20 countries across 6 continents.
- The program was held with community blessings and strong participation from Tamil temples, Tamil schools, and Saiva families across Dallas.
Spiritual Skit Presentation
In addition to the recitation, the children also presented a short spiritual drama portraying:
- The life of Appar Peruman, especially the episode where he was tied to a stone and thrown into the sea but saved by Lord Siva’s divine grace.
- The significance of "மந்திரமாவது நீறு" (Mandhiram Avadhu Neeru), highlighting the sanctity and spiritual power of Thiruneeru (holy ash).
The children were trained to recite:
- சொற்றுணை வேதியன் தாள் நிறை வேள்வி
- மந்திரமாவது நீறு வாய்மையின் வான்மலர்ந்
Training & Participation
- The children received 2 months of free training, both online and in person, under the loving guidance of Bhanu Amma and other Thirumurai teachers.
- Practice sessions were held weekly, building confidence, pronunciation, and devotion.
- All participants received certificates of recognition, honoring their dedication to preserving and spreading the divine hymns of Saiva Siddhantam.
